I know, I skipped a lot of steps, but it was in the 90's to 100 degrees when I was doing the filler work and primer and I was in no mood to stop and take pictures and I was really starting to get sick of looking at it. looking back I wish I would have taken pics of those steps. I hand blocked the primer 4 different times and I didn't have my A/C in my garage yet.

Welded the top of the box side on.
Finishing the inside of the so called box is not going to be fun.

I figured out what to do with the old barn doors from Donner #2.
Body lines look pretty good for this body style of Chevy!

Started welding the back of the cab.
Had to do a little rust patch. Hey the fenders were free!
Note the Orange pickup box tops on the rear quarters. I'm really not looking forward to all this welding.
All the sheet metal is fit and the rear quarters are tacked on with rivets for fitting. Need to do some final fitting before I weld.
Finishing this corner was a project in it's own.
Regular old tail gate won't work on here because of the slope forward above the tail lights.
I'm fitting the quarters before I weld them in place.
I went to a junk yard and found an old sub. that had new rear quarters put on it before it was junked. Got both sides and some top sides off of an old pickup box for $100 to make the new rear quarters.
Sprayed primer sealer on the blasted metal.
It cleaned up pretty good. not too big of hole left.
Washed the big chunks off with the pressure washer first.
Note the encloser for the back. It's the old frame from the back of the roof.
Wow that's a lot of rust !
Getting reading to blast away all that rust. How much metal will be left?
More trimming before I finish blasting.
Blasted, painted the shroud, inner wheels wells, and fire wall. Also painted insides of fenders and refit the sheet metal.

At this point I am wondering why I picked one this flippin rusty (Notice I didn't finish siding the garge before I started this project)
It still runs and drives, it just won't cool.

Donor #2 91 1/2 to 4x2 chevy suburban. I have already taken the interior and the engine out of this one and put it in the 87 4x4.
